Everson blown away by Tech visit
Detroit Mumford athlete Cedric Everson III and his father are visiting several schools this week during spring break, including Florida, Florida State, Vanderbilt and Georgia Tech, where they spent the entire day on Wednesday. Cedric Everson, Jr., who is also the assistant head coach and defensive coordinator at Mumford, said his son loved the entire experience at Tech and that has now catapulted the Yellow Jackets to the top of his list.
"Man, it was a wonderful place, a wonderful place," Everson, Jr. said. "My boy fell in love with it really. Coach (Chan) Gailey, he's a little different from a lot of the other head coaches. He just puts it right out there. He's a straightforward, down to earth guy and really personable. The whole staff is really personable. They're not standoffish and they make you feel right at home."
The pair got a chance to tour the campus and also meet with academic representatives.
"We talked to everybody, the strength and conditioning people, the academic people, everybody," Everson, Jr. said.
