Rumph, Clemson going after Florida blue-chip DB

Clemson had immense success recruiting the state of Florida last winter, grabbing several national prospects, one of whom was Tallahassee Godby four-star safety DeAndre McDaniel, the nation's No. 6 prospect at his position.

This year the Tigers are again hoping to make some noise in the Sunshine State. One four-star defensive back with a Tiger offer is Orlando, Fla., Edgewater athlete Lorenzo Edwards.

The 6-foot-2, 217-pound safety already has a big offer-sheet, listing full rides from Florida State, Florida, Miami, Notre Dame, Michigan, Nebraska, Clemson, LSU, West Virginia, Ole Miss, Georgia Tech, Northwestern, Southern Mississippi, Duke and Louisville.

Already this spring Edwards has visited Miami. He has also seen Florida State. This weekend he leaves for South Bend, Indiana where he'll visit three schools on a Midwest spree - Notre Dame, Michigan and Northwestern.

Edwards, already a member of the Rivals.com Pre-evaluation 100, carries a 3.37 GPA. The blue-chip safety would like to major in Architectural Engineering.
