Stock is rising for Houston forward
With two committed guards already in the bag from the class of 2007, Billy Donovan and the Florida Gators will most likely turn their attention to the big men. And Missouri, Texas, 6-foot-9, forward Kodi Augustus is certainly drawing some of that attention.
The three-star prospect is not listed in the RivalsHoops Top 100, but that hasn't scared away the likes of Florida, Texas, Arkansas and Texas A&M. They have all offered scholarships to Augustus who plays his AAU ball for the Houston Superstars and will attend prep school at the Lee Academy in Maine next year.
Augustus drew a lot of attention at the recent Kingwood Classic in Houston, an event that draws over 600 AAU teams from across the country. He has grown an inch and added about 20 pounds since the last time the college coaches got a chance to see him play, but what is so intriguing is his ability as a big man to step back and knock down the 3.
"He went to Kingwood and was one of the best players there," Augustus' AAU coach John Eurery said. "He put big numbers on everyone we played against."
