'Prince-like' comparisons for 2007 UK target?

Fans are always trying to compare recruits to former stars. It seems every new signee is "the next Jamal Mashburn" or "another Jeff Sheppard," but the comparisons rarely fit. However, when the head coach of the Kentucky Wildcats starts making comparisons, people listen a little more closely.

Anthony Randolph is among the elite in the Class of 2007, and his combination of size and versatility has Tubby Smith thinking of an ex-Wildcat All American.

"Tayshaun Prince," said Randolph's high school coach, Pat Washington. "Tayshaun Prince, man. (Smith) compared Anthony to a taller version of Tayshaun Prince. Same type of mannerisms, real quiet, easygoing nice kid, same thing. It was a great comparison and all Anthony could do was smile. Tayshaun Prince is one of his favorite players."

The similarities are striking. Randolph is a tall, lanky left-hander who can play inside or outside. Like Prince, Randolph needs to get stronger, but his exceptional skills make him a five-star prospect.
