Former Pack commit Chris Wright starting over

For junior point guard Chris Wright, April has been a month of unexpected developments.

Wright, a standout for St. John's College Prep in Washington, D.C., had verbally committed to play at N.C. State.

But on April 1, NC State head coach Herb Sendek left for Arizona State, and within hours Wright informed Rivals.com that he has reopened his recruitment.

"It has been very hectic since then," Wright said. "A lot of schools are recruiting me, so whatever happens, happens."

Wright is aware of NC State's new head coach, Sidney Lowe, but he has not had a chance to talk with him, yet.

"I know he is a DeMatha grad and all that," Wright said. "I know he won a national championship at NC State, and he has been in the NBA for a while. He has to pass the recruiting test before he can talk to me though."
