Irish like athleticism in Campbell

Devonte Campbell has already received offers from Maryland, Penn State, Illinois, Virginia, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Kansas State and Syracuse and he has interest from several other top college programs including Ohio State, Michigan State, Virginia Tech, Pittsburgh and Notre Dame.

Most schools are recruiting the 6-foot-2, 235-pound athlete from Forestville, Md., to play tight end, but the Irish like him at outside linebacker.

"I talked to (quarterbacks coach) Peter Vaas a couple of weeks ago," Campbell said. "We just talked about how Notre Dame is interested in me and how they want me to play outside linebacker."
