The Panthers land Rivals100 quarterback

This morning at his high school in Manheim Township quarterback Pat Bostick (6' 3 " 220) announced that he would be coming to the University of Pittsburgh to play football next fall. His announcement culminates a year-long effort by the Pitt coaching staff to land Bostick who is considered the top quarterback prospect in the state.

Bostick attended Pitt's summer camp in 2005 and has been a frequent visitor to the Pitt campus this spring. During one eight-week stretch Bostick made six visits to Pittsburgh to make sure he felt comfortable with the Pitt football program and its coaching staff.

Pat recently attended the Elite College Combine in Randolph, New Jersey and then took part in the Elite 11 Regional Camp at State College this past Saturday. Bostick had solid workouts at both camps.

Over the past two years Pat Bostick has thrown for over 5,100 yards and 62 touchdowns. Bostick has a quick release, which allows him time to read the play. He has throw only 14 interceptions in over 600 attempts the past two years.

Bostick was a second team AAAA all-state selection as a junior. He was also the Lebanon-Lancaster Section 1 Player of the Year.

Bostick chose Pitt over offers from Louisville, Connecticut, Georgia, Maryland, Maryland, NC State and Ole Miss.

Bostick is a solid student with a 3.3 GPA. He was a pre-evaluation Period Rivals Top 100.

The announcement by Pat Bostick gives the Panthers three verbal commitments. Earlier this week defensive back {db]Jared Williams[/db] from Perry Traditional Academy committed. Offensive guard [db]Chris Jacobson[/db] (6' 3" 284) from Keystone Oaks committed to Pitt back in February.
