Aledo looking to continue winning tradition

Aledo sits just a few miles west of Fort Worth and is growing at a fast rate. When head coach Tim Buchanan was hired to lead the Bearcats 13 years ago, Aledo was a small town competing in 3A and struggling to win games. Times have changed and the Aledo Bearcats are now a feared 4A Region I program.

The 2006-07 Aledo Bearcats should produce more of the same recent success under the leadership of senior offensive tackle Kyle Hix and defensive tackle Michael Wilcoxon.

Hix, one of 19 Texas Longhorn commits, is currently in a growth spurt that has seen him go from 6-foot-5 and 275 pounds to nearly 6-7 and 305 pounds in the last year. Buchanan says Hix has made a lot of improvement during that time.
