Palo Alto Prowess
More than 600 prospects flocked to Northern California to compete in Saturday's 2006 Palo Alto NIKE Camp.
A horde of college coaches, including a handful of prominent head coaches from the Pac-10, were on-hand to watch the festivities. Several players from the Western region generated buzz with their performances throughout the day.
Fili proves he's tough
For some athletes, the sight of blood is an immediate cause for rest. For Simi Fili of Salt Lake City, however, it was just another red badge of courage.
The 6-foot-4, 340-pound defensive tackle caught an elbow during one-on-ones and momentarily began bleeding. Fili was undaunted and refused to get out of line.
