Alabama in mix for Tennessee standout
Pope John Paul II athlete Golden Tate rates as one of the top two-way athletes in the South and his list of offers continues to grow.
Tate, 5-foot-11, 175 pounds, picked up an offer from Tide assistant Chris Ball early in the recruiting process, and Alabama continues to occupy one of the top spots among his favorites.
"I've been staying in touch with Coach Ball. We've talked a couple of times and sent text messages," Tate said. "He told me that Alabama wanted me to come in and play on both sides of the ball. I like that and I think I could make an impact as a freshman. Coach told me I had the chance to see the field on special teams as well."
