Lone Star WR stud eyes the west
The two Pac-10 Los Angeles schools have from time-to-time been able to get top-notch talent out of the Lone Star State of Texas. There is player from the Houston area that has caught the eye of both UCLA and USC.
The Texas player is wide receiver Terrance Toliver (6-4, 185, 4.47) from Hempstead, Texas. The Trojans have already offered Toliver a scholarship and the Bruins are just beginning to state their case.
There is good reason why Toliver is in such high demand that he already has over 15 offers. He's very athletic and versatile.
Toliver earned the Greater Houston Area Athlete of the Year. For the uninitiated, that is quite an honor. The Houston area is a virtual factory for great athletes for all sports and to be named Athlete of the Year is huge.
The three-sport standout is a three-time first-team all-district selection. That means he was all-district as a freshman another rarity in Texas.
As a junior, Toliver caught 26 passes for 515 yards and six touchdowns while averaging 22.4 yards per catch.
