Questions Answered: Vondrell McGee

The Longhorns signed some tremendous football players in February, and if you ask folks in East Texas they'll tell you that pound for pound, Vondrell McGee is the best of the bunch. The blue-chip running back from Longview is all set to report to Austin next week, and he should get a close look at some early playing time.

We caught up with McGee for the answers to all the questions that are on the minds of Longhorn fans.

Would you be interested in and do you have any experience returning kicks?

I returned punts and kick-offs. I would like to do it next year if I could.

With the history of freshmen running backs being able to play right away under Mack Brown, what are your expectations coming in?

Really, just get in and make sure I know the plays before I get in and try to do too much.

Do you feel that facing tough opponents in high school has helped prepare you for college?

I think so. That's where I think I had my best games and I played my best, when we were against somebody where you knew it was going to be a good game and you were going to have to play hard. Those have been my best games, really. Those are the ones that I like.
