Purdue offers Texas safety

The state of Texas continues to be important recruiting grounds for Purdue in every class. A handful of Texas prospects already claim scholarship offers from the Boilermakers.

One of the latest to join their ranks is a safety from the suburbs of Dallas. Tejay Johnson, a 6-foot, 185-pounder, is receiving attention from across the country and caught Purdue's eye recently.

One of the more frequent visitors this offseason to Purdue has been North Chicago defensive tackle Darius Scott. The 6-4, 370-pound prospect has gotten his fair share of attention in the early stages of the recruiting process, but is still looking for that first scholarship offer.

"I've been hearing from Nebraska, Ohio State, Purdue, Michigan State and Michigan," said Scott. "I have my eye on Ohio State and Nebraska right now and Purdue and Iowa State."
