Vols Make Push for Another Michigan Standout

Tennessee head coach Bruce Pearl made a big splash in the Class of 2006 when the Vols rolled into Detroit and rolled out after signing Top-20 national prospect Ramar Smith.

It's starting to look like that was not a one-time excursion, this year Tennessee is back in the state of Michigan chasing a couple of top-prospects, including Saginaw's Joshua Southern, a much sought-after post player in the '07 class.

Southern (6-foot-9, 240 pounds) is a physically imposing player who looks like he'll be right at home on the low blocks at the next level. This is one big man that you're not likely to see chucking many three-pointers or looking to handle the ball on the break. Which is precisely what Tennessee is looking for in the upcoming class.
