Michigan big headed to Dayton

On Wednesday evening, the Dayton Flyers landed Rivals.com three-star big man Devin Searcy out of Romulus High School. The Michigan native took his first visit to the Dayton's campus, sealing the thoughts and feelings he said he was experiencing for quite sometime. He's commitment number two for head coach Brian Gregory for 2007, and Dayton's stocking up on athletic talent.

Devin Searcy is a 6-9, 210-pound power forward/center out of Romulus High School in Romulus, Michigan. This past season, Searcy averaged 12.5 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 2.7 blocks in helping the Eagles to a 17-8 mark. On Wednesday, Searcy ended his recruitment by verballing committing to Brian Gregory and the University of Dayton. He joins one of his close friends, Trotwood's Chris Wright, for the 2007 fall incoming class.

"It's going to be great (playing with Chris Wright)," Searcy said from his home in Michigan. "We're going to bring a lot of championships to the program and just better the image and name of Dayton. We're going to be the next Marquette or the next Gonzaga."
