Leader emerges for Jeff Withey
When we first started talking about 7-foot-0, 220-pound center Jeff Withey, the San Diegan was a freshman and his recruitment was in its infant stages. Since then, Withey has developed into one of the top players in the 2008 class and become one of Arizona's priority recruits.
Arizona was the first to offer Withey and has since been joined by Kansas and Louisville. Those are just three of the several programs going after the Horizon High School star.
Withey has always had somewhat of a connection with Arizona. His trainer, Trent Suzuki, also trains future Wildcats Chase Budinger and Alex Jacobson. On top of that, one of Withey's EBO teammates is 2007 UA commit Jamelle Horne.
Last year, Withey attended the Arizona Skill Camp but this year, he had a choice to make. Both Arizona and UCLA have their annual Skill Camp at the same time, meaning that West Coast prospects are forced to choose between going to one campus or the other at the end of every June.
