Hokies still lead for LB Ovens

Sarasota, Fla., Cardinal Mooney linebacker Hunter Ovens is up to approximately 10 offers from schools including Florida, South Carolina, West Virginia, Minnesota and more. At this time, Virginia Tech continues to be the leader for the 6-foot-2, 220-pounder.

"A lot of schools are sending me stuff including letters and mail," he said. "I'd probably still say my favorite right now is Virginia Tech. I visited there and really liked the campus and atmosphere. They are the only school I've really visited for football so far."

Though he hasn't talked to the coaches too much, Ovens is impressed with the staff.

"They all seem very nice," he said. "Coach Wiles text messages me all the time and I really like him. He's a nice guy that keeps in touch and I think that gives Virginia Tech a big advantage since they are in contact more with me. I also like Bud Foster, the defensive coordinator a lot. I really like the way he coach's the defense and looks at games."
