2006 Look Ahead: Oklahoma State Cowboys

Oct. 7 @Bill Snyder Family Stadium, Manhattan, Kan.

Returning Starters: 15 (8 offense, 5 defense, kicker, punter)
2005 Record: 4-7
Coach: Mike Gundy

Cowboy to Watch: Quarterback Bobby Reid (6-3, 225 So.)
As a four-star rated recruit for the Class of 2004, Reid was tabbed as the third-best dual-threat quarterback prospect in the nation. And as the No. 41-rated recruit overall, Reid stood ranked higher than the likes of USC's Dwayne Jarrett, Louisville's Brian Brohm, Florida State's Drew Weatherford, and Ole Miss' Brent Schaeffer in the Rivals100. Reid didn't live up to the hype as a redshirt freshman last season, but now healthier and more experienced, this athletic and gifted quarterback may be poised to break out in 2006.

Wildcat to Watch: Linebacker Zach Diles
The job of keeping an eye on Reid in the running game could fall on Diles, K-State's senior middle linebacker who possesses the speed to roam from sideline to sideline and make plays all over the field. The Cowboys will also try to pound the middle of K-State's defense with what figures to be a solid running game, meaning Diles should have an opportunity to post big tackle numbers when the Pokes visit Manhattan.

Instant Analysis: Simply put, Oklahoma State may have been the worst team in the Big 12 Conference last season...
