Taylor loves visit to Capstone

Lakeland, Fla., High School running back Jamar Taylor gave a verbal commitment to Mike Shula and the Tide staff last month despite having never seen the Capstone in person. This weekend Taylor, 5-foot-9, 204-pounds, took his first visit to Tuscaloosa and returned with great things to say.

"I loved the visit. It was the first time I had been there and it was everything I thought it would be and more. I was always solid to Alabama with my commitment but if I had any doubts this erased them. I saw and learned everything I needed to. I'm completely sold on Alabama," Taylor said. "The campus was beautiful and I had fun seeing everything and touring the campus. I met with someone about academics and how they have a support group for the athletes because getting a degree should be our first priority. The people I met were cool. I think a lot of them already knew who I was.

"The football facilities were impressive. I loved the stadium and how big it is. They are adding a bunch of more seats so it's going to be even nicer. Their weight room was nice and I loved the indoor stadium and practice fields. You can tell they give the athletes every chance to be successful on and off the field.

"It was a good experience for me. I committed without seeing everything in person so I wasn't sure what to expect but there wasn't anything I didn't like. Alabama was a good fit for me on the football field and after the visit I know I made the right choice from every angle."
