Humphries ready to showcase his skills

Making the switch from baseball to football was a hard one for Keon Humphries. His senior year he decided to make that switch and it eventually paid off with a scholarship offer from Mississippi State. When Coach Croom speaks usually people listen, and when he was recruiting Humphries he was all ears. After an official visit to the campus he was ready to commit.

"Coach Croom gave me a chance to come to continue my football career on the next level. A lot of the coaches didn't want to take a chance on me, because I had only played one year of football, but Coach Croom saw something in me. He's been a motivator and an away from home father figure. I want to get to where he was, which was the NFL. He's not going to steer me wrong, so I just listen to the advice that he gives so I can become a better man on and off the field," he said.

As the Bulldogs continue to put the pieces together to reaching heights that the program hasn't seen before, the Bulldog staff has already instilled a winning and hard working attitude into its current players.

"Since the first day we came back in the spring we have working," Humpries stated. "It's been a non stop cycle of trying to get better. This summer we have really been focusing on our technique, our routes, and making big plays. We also have been paying attention to drops also. We dropped a lot of balls last year, and we know we can't do anything without the ball. The little things count, but we want more big plays this year."
