Ohio State lands another

The Ohio State recruiting class has grown by another as Monaca (Pa.) Center Area three-star offensive guard Evan Blankenship has committed to Ohio State. The 6-foot-3, 310-pounder made the call to Ohio State coach Jim Tressel earlier this afternoon, according to his mother.

Ohio State was just the right fit, his mother said.

Blankenship is ranked as the No. 25 player in Pennsylvania by Rivals.com. He was also offered scholarships by Pitt and Temple. Michigan and Notre Dame were also interested but had yet to extend a scholarship offer.
