Cooking with Omar

Ontario, Calif., The Colony cornerback Omar Bolden is hitting the math books this summer, hoping that a passing grade in Algebra will add up to a scholarship offer from USC.

After dominating the Trojans' Skills Camp in June, grades maybe the only thing keeping Bolden from becoming one of the PAC-10's most coveted recruits.

At 5-foot-11, 185-pounds, Bolden is a speedy cornerback with safety size and strength. During USC's Skills Camp last month, five-star athlete Joe McKnight learned of Bolden's talent the hard way.

Rated No. 14 among the nation's best players, McKnight tortured defenders all camp long with his tremendous speed and quickness. Coming off a play where the New Orleans standout took a swing pass for a touchdown, Bolden found himself one-on-one with Louisiana lightning.
