Turner ready for his chance

For most of his Georgia career, offensive tackle Michael Turner's time in Athens has been marked by time spent on the lower end of the offensive line depth chart. That'll change during the Bulldogs' first two games of the season when he'll start for the first time in the Bulldogs' first two games of the season against Western Kentucky and South Carolina.

Turner was originally projected to play extensively this fall to begin with. But with the suspension of senior tackle Daniel Inman for the first two games, Turner's elevated to being a starter.

"This is my shot, I've waited for it my whole life," Turner said. "I don't like the way it happened, but I guess you've got to get how you get it. I'm ready."

Unlike in the past, Turner is going through summer workouts knowing what'll lie ahead when the season begins. The approaching of his first chance to start for the Bulldogs has weighed heavily on Turner's mind throughout the summer.

"I don't know if I'm working harder, but I guess I've got something more to work for," Turner said. "You've just got guys coming and looking up to you now and I just feel like being a senior and it being my last year, I've got a lot to prove. I'm just ready to do it."
