Lakeside QB could be the favorite
Fresno State certainly appears to be in the market for an incoming freshman quarterback for the class of 2007. With as many as a dozen names being tossed around, we may have come up with a frontrunner.
Quarterbacks come in all shapes and sizes and, depending on the offense, a different set of skills. One player that seems to be able to do it all is Lakeside, Calif., El Capitan High School quarterback Ryan Lindley. We caught up with Lindley to find out how tight he is with the Bulldogs.
"I just got a couple of letters from Coach Hill and Coach Skipper about a week ago," Lindley said. "Coach Hill was letting me know they are still interested and that I am at the top of their board."
Lindley is 6-foot-3 ½ and 205 pounds. He runs the 40-yard dash around 4.9 seconds and threw for 2,220 yards and 14 touchdowns as a junior at El Capitan. On top of being gifted physically, Lindley is bright in the classroom, boasting a 4.2 GPA.
Lindley currently has one offer from Idaho after heading up there for a camp over the summer. He says he liked Idaho, but would prefer to stay closer to home.
