Pine-Richland kicker gets interest from Pitt
Pitt begins its 2006 season with four kicking specialists on its rosters. Only two of those four are on scholarship.
Today, the Pantherlair looks at a local product, Tom Randazza of Pine-Richland.
Randazza is very knowledgeable about the recruiting process, and knows that kickers don't typically get offers until the tail end of the recruiting season, after teams have filled their needs at all the other positions.
Nevertheless, Randazza has had a busy off-season schedule. It all started for him when he was invited to a national kicking combine in Miami back in January. Randazza was there with 100 kickers, including 30 in his class. He finished seventh overall, third in his class. He said the competition was good for him, as it was all one-on-one kicking instruction and competition.
