Is Ovens closing in on a decision?

Rumors have started to circulate that linebacker Hunter Ovens out of Sarasota, Fla., Cardinal Mooney may be making a commitment sometime soon. Hokiehaven.com caught up with the 6-foot-2, 220-pounder to find out the truth on the situation?

"I'm not close to a decision at all," he said. "I'm still up in the air between football and baseball as I just got done with baseball last week. If anyone leads it is Virginia Tech because their visit stood out, but they are one of the few schools I've visited along with Florida and South Florida. I want to make a lot more trips."

Though a decision doesn't appear imminent, Ovens still likes the Hokies a lot.

"I visited them for a couple days and I like the way the coaches were talking to me," he said. "I especially like coach Wiles. He's my recruiter and I talk to him all the time text messaging. He's a good guy that has even told me I can play both sports. I know it'll be hardwork for me, but I want to try to do it. I have even emailed the baseball coach to find out more on the team. One other thing I like about Virginia Tech is the fact I feel at home there."
