Yancy making trips

Things have been somewhat busy for the No. 4 rated prospect in the state of Arizona, William Yancy. The strongside defensive end has a solid group of favorites after taking in some late summer trips.

The 6-foot-4, 223-pounder has a strong list of scholarship offers from both in-state schools, Arizona and Arizona State, along with Colorado State, Oregon State, UTEP, Utah, Purdue, Boise State, Wyoming and others. Three schools hosted Yancy for visits recently.

"I went to Purdue unofficially about two weeks ago and that was really impressive," Yancy said. "I had an unofficial visit to Arizona State and the Arizona elite camp. Coach Mike Stoops showed us around after the camp.

"At ASU, the coaching staff was great. The whole campus had changed since I had seen it when my brother was there. I'm really surprised. U of A's weight room has a sandbox in there they use for speed training. They care about you as a player but also as a person."
