Coach: Wilson is a special talent

A little over a week ago quarterback Russell Wilson of Collegiate High in Richmond, Va.., verbally committed to NC state over an offer from Duke and heavy interest from North Carolina and Louisville. Wilson, 6-foot-0, 185 pounds, completed 205 of 361 passes for 3,287 yards and 40 touchdowns with just 11 interceptions. The Wolfpacker talked with Collegiate head coach Charlie McFall to get the lowdown on the signal caller. Here are highlights from that interview.


What kind of player is NC State getting?


I think you are getting a great player, and a great leader, and a great person.


What are his strengths as a quarterback?


As a quarterback, he's started for me three years. He sees the field well, he makes very good decisions, and he's got an unbelievable arm. I haven't seen anybody that can make the throws he can throw and also with the touch, he leads the receivers. He knows how fast they are and puts that ball on the money. He hits them in stride.
