Perfect start to Fall Camp

Heavy rain throughout the afternoon brought some doubt to how Arizona's Fall Camp would kick off on Thursday night. The rain stopped but the clouds remained, leaving Tucson at a perfect temperature for a great night of football.


Fall Camp openers in the past couple of years have been filled with rustiness and doubt. Not this year. The players and coaches were as excited as ever and the team clicked like it was coming off of a big season.


If the first night was any indication, this Arizona Football team will surprise plenty of people in 2006.


"It's good to get started," said head coach Mike Stoops. "It was a great first day. I really enjoyed watching our team perform today."


What was most impressive about the team's first official practice was the energy level and synergy among the team. Past fall practices had looked like a group of individuals being coached but on Thursday night, you really got the feeling that the players have come together and formed a team.
