DL out with knee; News & notes from practice 1
Teraz McCray spent the spring as a first-teamer before tweaking a knee prior to the Spring Game. And now McCray is neither a first-teamer nor healthy.
McCray spent UM's first practice doing rehab on the side after undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery. He has a history of knee injuries, but says he is optimistic he'll be back from this one quickly.
"I'll be ready to go by Florida State," he said.
Coach Larry Coker said he expects McCray will remain in the two-deep when he returns to action. McCray is now a backup with Bryan Pata moving from starting defensive end to tackle. Kareem Brown is the other starter at tackle.
Pata currently weighs 280 pounds and says he wants to gain another five pounds before the season.
