Media Day: Angerer ready to contribute

After redshirting last season, linebacker Pat Angerer is ready to play in 2006. Whether that means on special teams or at linebacker, the Bettendorf native just wants to contribute. At media day, Angerer talked about his progress, moving to a new linebacker position, and much more.

Q: How did your progress go in your redshirt year last year?

ANGERER: Good. I'm just trying to get better in any way I can. I'm learning the defense and trying to contribute to the team any way possible.

Q: What's it like this year with your name on the depth chart?

ANGERER: It's a really good opportunity because when you redshirt you feel like you don't really get a chance to contribute to the team except on scout team. I'm just hoping to get on the field and help the team in any way I can.

Q: What has working under Norm Parker been like?

ANGERER: Oh, it's amazing. He reminds me of my dad because he's ornery, but he's a genius. He knows everything there is to know about football. It's really been nice because he's easy to talk to and he's just a good coach.
