Local star with ASU ties prepares to set visits
In any other recruiting cycle, William Yancy might be the most talked about in-state defensive prospect in the state of Arizona. Five-star recruit Everson Griffen might be getting a lot of the media attention from around the country, but Yancy, the strongside defensive end from Glendale, Ariz., Ironwood High School, is getting his own attention from some very prestigious schools.
"Recently I got word from my coach that Nebraska is going to be offering me soon," Yancy said. "Wyoming also offered me in the past month. I also have offers from Arizona State, UTEP, Utah, Purdue, Boise State, Colorado State, and Oregon State have all offered."
Most Arizona High Schools have already begun the fall semester, so football practice has been in full swing for Yancy and his Ironwood teammates.
