Texas DB chooses Cats

Aldine, Texas safety Curtis Thomas had schools from several conferences extending scholarship offers based on his workouts during the spring evaluation period.

Those offers allowed the three-star rated prospect the chance to look at several schools and make his college choice just before his senior season began.

The 6-foot-1, 190-pound Thomas chose Kansas State over scholarship offers from Michigan State, Illinois, Indiana and Purdue in the Big 10 Conference while Nebraska and Baylor joined K-State from the Big 12 Conference. Houston and Rice also had thrown their hats in the ring.
