Teague ready to Wake ACC school up

Even since Chris Paul left Wake Forest for the NBA, Skip Prosser and his staff have been looking for a replacement at the point guard spot. The Demon Deacons may have found the long term answer in Jeff Teague, who committed to the ACC school on Friday at a press conference at his Indianapolis (Ind.) Pike High School.

Teague made his decision public on Friday, less than a week after visiting the Winston-Salem campus.

"I felt like they were the perfect fit for me," Teague said. "The coaching staff was really good and their style of play was perfect for what I know."

Wake Forest beat out the home state Indiana Hoosiers and Teague said it came down to style of play.

"Coach (Kelvin) Sampson did a great job of recruiting me but I've never seen his team play so I didn't know if I could fit in it or not. With Coach Prosser's system, I know how he plays and I know I can fit that nicely," Teague said.

"My whole life I've been playing up and down so when I went there and saw their guys going from end line to end line, that is when I knew."

Teague said he is looking forward to developing a report with Prosser and the rest of the Wake staff.

"We are going to build a great relationship," Teague said. "And it's going to get even better."

Teague is the second player to commit to Wake Forest in the last two weeks. He joins Wyoming forward James Johnson in the 2007 recruiting class.
