Moss may not play until after bye week

UM practiced mostly indoors today due to lightning.

"We felt we got some things done," coach Larry Coker said. "It's a very short week, so we have to get a lot done in a hurry."

Coker said after today's practice that he prefers not to answer any more questions about the FSU game.

"Florida State's over," he said. "There's no discussion on Florida State. It's all FAMU for myself and each of the players."

The Canes take on FAMU this Saturday at 7 p.m. at the Orange Bowl.

* Coker said RB Tyrone Moss, who is coming off a knee injury, "might" play this week.

"I'll see how his health is," Coker said. "We might hold him a couple of weeks until after the open date.

"He wants to play. But I want to make sure he's healthy and ready to play."

* LT Reggie Youngblood is in a boot with a sprained ankle, and Coker said his availability is very much in question for this weekend.

"I'm concerned about him," Coker said.

Chris Rutledge worked with the first team today with Youngblood out. Coker said Cyrim Wimbs and Alex Pou are also available to play left tackle.
