Talking Pitt football: Derek Kinder
In the weeks leading up to Pitt's season opener, the Pantherlair brought you Tales from Camp, a weekly series featuring training camp in the words of the players. Now that the season has begun, the Pantherlair presents Talking Pitt Football. This week's featured player is junior wide receiver Derek Kinder.
Having what can rightfully be considered a breakout season, Kinder has emerged as the Panthers' go-to receiver. Through three games, Kinder is averaging 123.3 receiving yards per game, good for tops in the Big East and second in the nation. He has scored four touchdowns and has become a big-play specialist, averaging over 20 yards per reception. Kinder sat down with the Pantherlair recently and talked about being 2-1, being a leading receiver nationally, and making big plays.
