Christian Taylor leads resurging D

Junior linebacker Christian Taylor has become the leader of a defense that has made a dramatic improvement from a year ago. He typifies this bunch who are finally coming into their own as a unit. Many on this defensive team are underdogs who have defied naysayers all their lives, especially Taylor.

Taylor is very comfortable, as the following interview will indicate, with the perception of being an underdog.

BruinBlitz.com: was able to get a few moments with Taylor after practice earlier in the week.

BruinBlitz.com: You have two games under your belt as a starting linebacker this season and you have a big contest against Washington who has a quarterback that presents a multitude of problems for a defense. What do you have to do stop Isaiah Stanback who is a multi-talented guy?

Taylor: "He's a very talented guy and he's a very talented athlete. He can run and do things that most guys just can't do.

"We certainly have to contain him and that is definitely part of our game plan, controlling him, but they also have a great running game and he can throw the ball pretty well, too.
