Efficiency pays off for Palko and offense
On the heels of a performance that earned him Big East Offensive Player of the Week honors, Pitt quarterback Tyler Palko was characteristically non-plussed.
"I'm not really worried about that stuff," Palko said Monday. "I'm just trying to come out and execute and do what I'm supposed to do on offense and continue to get better with coach Cavanaugh in my progression as a quarterback.
"I guess I got lucky. I'll just continue to keep working and whatever happens happens."
The luck Palko spoke of was in reference to the show he put on against The Citadel last Saturday, when the senior quarterback completed 15 of 17 passes for 313 yards and four touchdowns.
That luck was historic, as Palko's 88.2 completion percentage ranks as the sixth-best all-time single-game mark in Big East history.
