Huskers hope to cure Texas hangover in Stillwater
Still stinging from Saturday's heartbreaking 22-20 loss to No. 5 Texas, Nebraska coaches and players insist the Huskers have already refocused their full attention on Oklahoma State and a weekend road trip to Stillwater.
The 6-2 Huskers and 4-3 Cowboys square off Saturday afternoon at Boone Pickens Stadium.
"We were disappointed after that (Texas) loss, as we should've been, but it's behind us now," Nebraska quarterback Zac Taylor said Tuesday at the Huskers' weekly press conference. "We know we've got four tough games ahead of us. Going down to Stillwater is not going to be an easy game. It's a good team and it's going to be a tough environment."
Saturday's journey to Stillwater marks Nebraska's third road game in October. Earlier this month, the Huskers posted back-to-back to road wins over Iowa State and Kansas State, but the Cowboys may pose the biggest challenge of the three road-game opponents. The Cowboys are coming off a heartbreaking setback of their own, a 34-33 overtime loss to Texas A & M.
Nebraska head coach Bill Callahan pointed out Tuesday that the Huskers haven't won three road games in a calendar month since 1983, but he's confident his team will turn in a strong performance in Stillwater.
