Razorbacks find diamond in Dora

Arkansas picked up its 13th commitment and 2nd out-of-state commitment for the 2007 recruiting class on Monday when Dora, Ala., defensive end Chavis Williams decided to pick the Razorbacks.


Williams' story is different than most in recruiting. Coaches really only got a chance to see what he can do this season, and he will not turn 18 years old until July 10. He dedicated himself in the off-season, got bigger and taller. Arkansas made the offer on Monday, and he accepted early Tuesday afternoon. Arkansas coach Mike Markuson, who recruits Alabama for the Hogs, has been keeping an eye on Williams' progress since the spring evaluation period.
