Cats understand importance of bowl game

It's the big question, the high stakes, the looming goal that cannot be dodged for the Kansas State football team and Coach Ron Prince. With a 5-4 record, the Wildcats are just one win away from becoming bowl-eligible, something they can accomplish this Saturday if the Cats win at Colorado.

Prince finally discussed the possibility of his team playing in a bowl, even if on Halloween he chose to camouflage the word "bowl" as "fourth game" for his team that still faces regular-season matchups with Texas and Kansas following the trip to Boulder, Colo.

"We've said that we want to get to November and be in the hunt, and we're in the hunt for a fourth game," Prince said at his weekly press conference on Tuesday. "We've got three games and a chance to play a fourth. With that said, these four practices will do us a lot of good as far as playing well this weekend. It would be great for our team and great for our program to get a fourth game. If we practice and play well, we will be happy with the outcome of all of those games."

Prince has drilled his team not just in the "one-game-at-a-time" philosophy used by so many coaches, but more specifically in a foundation built on each practice.
