Junior already garnering major attention

Junior wide receiver Kemonte Bateman (6-1, 175, 4.4) from Los Angeles (Calif.) Crenshaw is already getting a lot of recruiting attention and his junior season is still in session.

Bateman is a silky smooth athlete who runs great routes and has soft hands. He's one of those receivers you would love to have on your team. He's a big time player who makes the big time catch and the kicker is, he is only going to get better.

In nine games so far in 2006, Bateman has caught 31 passes for 487 yards and six touchdowns.

Bateman is another surefire D-I prospect who will follow in a long line of outstanding Crenshaw Cougars who will graduate and continue their football careers at D-I schools.

"It's good going to Crenshaw," Bateman said. "Coach (Robert) Garrett is a great coach. He coaches everything for us and he likes to get all his players off to college and have them do good things with their lives."

On the recruiting front, Bateman is already getting several letters and he has an early top five of UCLA, Cal, USC, Oregon, and Tennessee.
