Tuberville: Tigers will do talking on the field
On Tuesday, several Alabama players expressed their frustration and anger over Auburn's four-game Iron Bowl winning streak. Tide fullback Le'Ron McClain said they'll put an end to all the 'Fear the Thumb' talk when they hit AU in the mouth on the first play of the game.
Tailback Kenneth Darby said Tuberville's actions following last year's 28-18 win were "disrespectful and a slap in the face."
On Wednesday, Auburn head coach Tommy Tuberville briefly addressed the pre-game chatter.
"We don't talk in the newspapers," said Tuberville. "We try to do our talking on the field, if we do any. Hopefully, we do a little this week."
Tuberville also commented on the news that a number of Alabama players have his picture - either holding up four fingers or wearing a 'Fear the Thumb' t-shirt - taped to their lockers.
"I hope they got my good side," quipped Tuberville who is coaching in his eighth Iron Bowl.
