Tide makes run at Auburn pledge

Mosley High School running back Enrique Davis broke a lot of hearts when he committed to Auburn last month including Alabama's who was in his top five choices. However, this week Davis, 5-foot-11, 212-pounds, was in Tuscaloosa for an encore unofficial visit to watch Alabama square off against the Tigers with the Tide hoping to get back in the race for his signature.

"My visit to Alabama was real fun. I got to meet and talk to Coach (Mike) Shula and (Bob) Connelly. They were cool and made me feel at ease. It was my first visit there for a game and it was a great experience. The coaches broke down Alabama and their situation at running back. I know they run the ball a lot and that is the kind of offense I want to play in," Davis said. "Another thing I liked was I got to hang out with a lot of the players and they made me feel right at home. I hung out with DJ Hall who is my cousin and he showed me around. Keith Brown was a cool guy and really I liked everyone they introduced me to. I met a little bit of everyone and they all seemed like good people but the team is what stood out because they were so laid back. That night after the game I stayed the night and we went out. DJ explained to me the benefits of playing at Alabama and all the players seemed to like it, but they weren't pushy. I appreciated that.
