Another big game for Bear
Coming into last night's game against Fort Wayne Snider, Eshaunte "Bear" Jones was averaging nearly 40 points per game. The Indiana commit didn't hit the 40 mark but had 24 in the first half alone and finished with 36 points as his North Side team prevailed, 68-54, in a game played at the Fort Wayne Coliseum.
With his North Side team down 14-12 entering the second period last night against Snider, Eshaunte Jones took matter into his own hands from beyond the arc. The player known most of his life as "Bear" -- beared down on Snider with five consecutive three-pointers, four of which came in that decisive second stanza. That outburst fueled a 27 point quarter by his Redskins team that led to 39-28 halftime advantage.
"I felt it early and that got my team going and everything after that went well," said Jones. "He (coach) told us to start zoning and pressing then and it really worked."
