Cleared for takeoff

The wait is almost over. When Kansas State takes on Kennesaw State tomorrow afternoon in Bramlage Coliseum, freshman Bill Walker will finally make his Wildcat debut. Walker practiced for the first time with his teammates on Saturday and also made his initial appearance in front of the media, commenting on a variety of topics as he prepares to take the floor at Bramlage Coliseum for the first time.

You ready to get going?
"I'm excited about it. It's been a long time since I've played, so I'm ready to get out there."

What have you done since arriving at Kansas State?
"Just a lot of running to try and get in shape for 40 minutes of basketball. I've just been working on my game, working on being a better jump shooter. At this level you can't get to the basket as easily as you would in high school."

Do you feel you can be a difference maker right away?
"If I just come in and play hard…I just want to help the team. I'm not trying to come in and score 1,000 points in a game; I just want to help the team in any way I can."
