Jordan Hill making progress

Over the past few weeks, we had heard several rumblings from inside the UA basketball program about how impressive 6-foot-9 freshman forward Jordan Hill had been playing in practice.

So it was no surprise that Hill made a big impact in Sunday's game against Houston, in which he played 15 minutes and scored four points (2-2 FG) and grabbed six boards.

Even though senior center Kirk Walters is recovering from mononucleosis and trying to work his way back into the lineup, when he does get back to full strength, it still might be difficult to steal minutes away from Hill, who is quickly proving that he deserves them.

"Jordan has been getting better in practice," said UA assistant Josh Pastner, who coaches the big men. "He's been getting better day after day. It's just a thing where the more repetitions he gets, the better he's going to become."
