Wildcats fall to Washington State

The Wildcats lost their second game of the season Saturday to a very potent Washington State team by a final score of 77-73.

The Cats looked the worst they have all season as a team since the loss at Virginia the first game of the season. In Arizona's first overtime game of the season, it made bad offensive decisions all night long and allowed open looks on the defensive end throughout the entire game.

Arizona's interior defense was once again an Achilles' heel and as a result of trying to compensate for it, the Wildcats ended up allowing open three-pointers, especially to Daven Harmeling, who hit seven three-pointers in the game for a total of 28 points.

Mustafa Shakur did all he could in the loss by posting yet another excellent game for the Wildcats with 19 points, eight rebounds and eight assists.

Arizona was had one of its poorest shooting performances of the season Saturday as it shot 39% from the field and 28% from three-point range.

The Cougars controlled the game from the outset and quickly jumped out to an 11-2 lead in the beginning of the first half.
