Stangel switches pledge to ASU following trip
San Jacinto (Calif.) quarterback Chasen Stangel made a verbal commitment to Arizona State this weekend following an official recruiting visit to the school. Stangel had been committed to UTEP, but he told us he made the switch due to a number of factors.
"To me and my family during the whole recruiting process, it's important for me to play for people -- obviously the name of the school -- but for people, obviously because you're going to spend the next four or five years working so closely with them," Stangel said. "Coach Erickson was recruiting me at Idaho and with him and with coach Price at UTEP, they were just great people and initially I committed to UTEP.
