The captivating Chris Conte
There is a mystery behind Loyola (Calif.) defensive back Chris Conte. It's a cool mystery, like that of a throwback player who hits you all day on the field, but strolls up afterwards to shake your hand. He stands a solid 6-foot-4, 185-pounds - making him one of the tallest and most physical cornerback prospects on the west coast. But despite his physical stature, Conte's ambiguity stretches from basic recruiting to his overall accomplishments.
There is no question that Conte is reserved off-the-field. He's extremely sharp and quick, even in conversation. He's also articulate, studious, and a relentless competitor. That's what makes Conte one of the top defensive back prospects on the west coast, and coveted by both Cal and UCLA. A premier student-athlete, which includes a 1660 SAT, and an impeccable work ethic, Chris flat out loves to compete. He acknowledges the stereotype surrounding taller cornerbacks, and he looks forward to bending the popular opinion.
